East End Community Services is so pleased to have the wonderful glass mosaic mural completed by K-12 Gallery artists and the community. Designed based upon student illustrations at Ruksin PreK-8 School, ,the mural is a monument to the power of the neighborhood to grow in beauty and hope in recent years. We cannot thank enough K-12 Gallery and all the wonderful artists and volunteers who are transforming our neighborhood. The event was marked by a wonderful parade and picnic with Chase Foundation serving as the presenting sponsor. Other sponsors included WalMart and GFS. We were pleased to have many organizations participate in this wonderful day including New Hope Church, Wesley Center, Twin Towers Block Leaders, Twin Towers Neighborhood Association, the Glen and the Mentoring Collaborative as well as the AmeriCorps members. Great thanks goes out to the Wesley Center, Twin Towers Head Start of Miami Valley Child Development, Dayton Metro Library, Mary Wenning and the Color Guard and MIA/POW display, Montgomery County Solid Waste, Dayton Police, City of Dayton, Dayton Public Schools, Bad Frog Yogurt, Miami Valley RTA and Cityfolk. It was truly wonderful day for families who watched and participated in a parade promoting children’s literacy, One Community, Many Stories.
