Builders and Contractors Builders seeking to secure LEED certification through the US Green Building Council will want to consider use of reclaimed materials through the Deconstruction Depot. During the LEED certification process, specific points are awarded for buildings that are constructed re-using materials. Use of materials secured through deconstruction is a cost-effective way to win LEED points and please buyers that are interested in "green" housing. Many new owners simply desire to have housing that carries with it the beauty of items from another era. Whether it is old doors, a chandelier, crown moldings or an ornate mantel, owners appreciate one of a kind items. Lumber, doors, mantels, trim, cabinets, architectural details, light fixtures and other items are available through the Deconstruction Depot which is located at 945 S Edwin C Moses Blvd. Dayton, OH 45408. In addition, builders seeking to recycle their construction waste will want to call Dayton Works Plus to make arrangements for materials to be removed from the site and donated. Please contact Dayton Works Plus to learn more about this effort. Builders who donate materials to the Deconstruction Depot at St. Vincent de Paul can receive tax credit for fair market value of that donation. Firms that are performing renovations also will be interested in the doors, trim, architectural details and windows that are available. |
